Bears Book Nooks

At Bear’s Book Nooks, we believe in the magic of creativity and the joy of family. Our journey began with a playful brainstorming session between my daughter and me. We were dreaming up names and imagining a cozy reading nook nestled within a wall of bookshelves. When we jokingly said “Book Nook,” it just clicked! And thus, Bear’s Book Nooks was born—a name that we love for its playful twist.

Living in Africa, our happiest memories are of self-drive safaris with our three kids. Picture this: the look of amazement on our kids’ faces when they saw a leopard on a hill for the first time, or the laughter that erupted when a baby elephant got a gentle tap from the matriarch to move along. These moments are the heart and soul of our books.

Our adventure into book creation started with a simple need. My youngest son, who is left-handed, struggled with traditional dot-to-dot books. So, I began creating left-handed dot-to-dots and activity books inspired by his favorite activities—dot-to-dots, mazes, match-ups, and even spot-the-difference, a nod to my left-handed husband’s childhood favorite.

Each of our children plays a special role in our book-making journey. My youngest son inspires the activities and chooses his favorite safari animals, like the zebra. My eldest son, with his keen eye, reminds me of the animals we’ve seen, contributing to our coloring books for kids and adults. As for my daughter, our little editor with Asperger’s, ensures the animals are depicted accurately, sharing her passion and knowledge about their behaviors. Her favorite? The cheetah, which she finds to be “sweet” predators.

Bear’s Book Nooks is a true family effort, filled with love, joy, and a touch of adventure. We hope our books bring as much happiness to your family as they have to ours.
